The vision of the Suicide Prevention Collaborative of El Paso County is to reduce isolation, suicide attempts, and deaths by creating caring communities that are resilient, connected, and capable of supporting every person, regardless of the struggles they face.

Everyone in our community can take action. As a member of the Collaborative, we ask you support efforts to do the following:

Commit to your organization participating in gatekeeper trainings. Our partners including UC Health, Diversus Health, PPSPP and more provide free trainings. For a training request, you can visit Suicide Prevention Trainings or email Nicole Johnston at

Share the Lethal Means Safety PSA by including it on your organizational website, social media and community presentations. You can find the PSA here:

Share 988 to increase awareness

988 is a free, confidential service available to those experiencing a mental health, substance use, or emotional crisis. People can reach out for themselves or for someone they are concerned about. When people call or text 988, they will be asked if they or the person they are calling for is a veteran or LGBTQIA+. Calling services are available in multiple languages; text and chat services are currently limited to English only.
